Botox has a new competitor. The FDA has approved Dysport for use in facial wrinkles and frown lines. This makes it an important alternative to Botox. The use of the injectable material is similar but the cost is less. In a short while we will be using the medication and testing its duration and effectiveness. This new development gives our patients a choice in products.

Botox will remain the gold standard to reduce facial wrinkles but Dysport should be tested in the office setting now that safety is established.
